Mika Orr bought her first video camera at 15 and hasn't put it down since. She writes, directs, and produces fiction and documentary work that explores themes of identity, fantasy and the way cultures converge. Mikooka Projects is the home for her original films.

Recent projects include the award-winning short films Professional Cuddler and DUET, and the documentary-animation web series #AMiNORMAL, co-produced with ARTE and Kan, which premiered at IDFA DocLab. She is currently completing Dancing Through, a vérité feature shot over five years following three displaced girls and their mothers in Uganda, Colombia, and Germany, and has two feature films in development.

Mika founded Mikooka Productions in 2008, creating hundreds of branded content pieces for clients such as Google, Coca-Cola, and Yad Vashem, as well as live shows and music videos for artists including Nouvelle Vague, Yemen Blues, and Andy Farber's Big Band. In 2019 she opened the company's New York branch, Mikooka Projects.
